Project Notes

Above ground pools are not typically a “high-end” product. We designed this project to improve the aesthetics of this above ground pool and provide easy access to the pool from the house. We built the deck in such a way that it covered the top cap of the pool, but still provided access to the change the liner, which is essential with an above ground pool. We incorporated an area for the grill under a shady pergola which eventually will support vines and hanging plants. We also incorporated curves in the deck a curved bench around the bay window, and a curved planter. The material that we used for the majority of this project is Siberian Larch. The railing posts are Cumaru, and provide a nice contrast with the Larch. We installed the decking with Hidden Fasteners. We also installed low voltage deck lighting.
